Recording Your Music and Selling it Online

Once you have recorded music in your dorm room studio you need to be able to sell it if you want to profit. Unless you are recording for someone else and they are paying you you will need to sell some of your music to make some cash, and if you want to keep getting your equipment and software, you want to make some money.

To do this you will need to research the different ways to sell music online. There are many paths you can take to get your music online these days, and you may end up using more than a few of them.

One main type of strategy is to put it on a site like itunes or CDBaby. This will cost you some money up front, but it can be worth it because those sites will expose you to large markets. The best way to do it for free would be to set up an ecommerce store on your own site that charges people to download your music. This will let you keep all of the profits but it will be more work and require much more marketing.

Remember that the path of music does not end at the recording studio, and if no one can sell their music, there wont be much in recording it.
