Recording a Spanish guitar in a dorm room may be a hard task in certain situations. This is a delicate instrument to record that will require at least one microphone. Add to that the fact that your environment must be completely silent to get a good take, and you see that a dorm room may not be the best place to record a guitar from southern Spain.
If you have been on southern Spain tours and know of the type of music that is produced with these guitars, then you might see that it will require a lack of dorm room sounds. To accomplish this, you may want to try recording it at night, or at a time during the day where there are not a lot of people around. Hopefully you have some good soundproofing in your room to cut down on noise going both ways.
The key thing to remember when recording a Spanish guitar is that you want to capture the details of the sound without catching environmental sounds. This is not the ideal situation for dorm room recording, but you should try to do what you can.
